Group Accounting Manager (GL)
ASCO, part of the Swiss group Montana Aerospace, began operations as a private subcontractor in 1954. Today ASCO Group is engaged in a broad range of development, engineering, manufacturing and assembly activities providing multidisciplinary subcontracting services to various markets and aerospace programs around the world.

Asco produces over 2,500 assemblies every month and has the ambition to be a world leader in design and manufacture of high lift devices, complex mechanical assemblies and major functional components for the aerospace industry.
Montana Aerospace AG is a highly-vertically integrated manufacturer and supplier of system components and complex assemblies for the aerospace, e-mobility and energy sectors with worldwide engineering and manufacturing operations has acquired 100% of the share of the Asco Group beginning of April 2022.
The Group Accounting Manager (GL) reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of ASCO Group and leads the Belgian accounting team (6 FTEs). This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, driving IFRS conversion, and strengthening accounting processes and controls across the group. The position also plays a key role in the integration into Montana Aerospace, requiring strong expertise in BE GAAP and IFRS.
Key Responsabilites & Accountabilities :
1. Statutory Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure full compliance of Belgian entities (5) with BE GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
- Lead the IFRS for Belgian entities for group integration.
- Guarantee unqualified audit opinions for all Belgian entities.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Oversee monthly statutory closings and ensure timely, accurate reporting.
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions.
- Prepare and present periodic financial updates for the BE Works Council, including the annual economic & financial information
2. Monthy Financial Statements
- Organize and prepare monthly financial statements (statutory and analytical) for top management.
- Follow up on reimbursable amounts, investments, and tax shelter.
- Control and authorize payments.
- Define and update the accounting plan.
- Create new customers in Mapics and AFSEE systems.
3. Yearly Financial Statements
- Organize, prepare, and communicate yearly statutory financial statements for external audit approval and legal deposit.
- Define year-end procedures (accruals, cut-off, inventory).
- Prepare annexes for year-end closing.
- Coordinate external audit of annual accounts.
- Prepare annual statutory accounts for deposit.
4. Internal & External Obligations
- Coordinate VAT, Intrastat declarations, and official statistics.
- Respond to quarterly and annual questionnaires from business councils.
- Organize and prepare for fiscal and tax audits.
- Ensure timely social security payments and related reporting.
- Resolve issues related to VAT, suppliers, and clients.
5. Leadership & People Management
- Coach and develop the accounting team (6 FTEs) based in Belgium and Vietnam.
- Ensure team members have necessary competencies; initiate training where needed.
- Foster strong stakeholder relations and a positive work environment.
- Manage team performance and drive continued team member development
- Organize team and individual meetings for issue follow-up.
- Participate in recruitment and selection of new team members.
- Participate or lead in cross department company projects
Profile, knowledge and experience
Education: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent expereince
Languages: Fluent in English and Dutch and/or French, with a good command of the other language
Skills / Experience:
- 8–10 years of professional experience, including roles in accounting and/or audit management with exposure to BE GAAP and IFRS.
- Fluency in working daily with any ERP.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and statutory requirements.
- Experience in Big 4 audit firms is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, international environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Willing to occasionally travel
