Job Description :

The Materials & Processes Engineer Development provides Materials and Processes (M & P) expertise related to the full life-cycle of ASCO’s aeronautical programs in order to enable ASCO to provide products produced with qualitative, cost-effective and state of the art materials and processes.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Materials & Processes (M&P) Engineer provides Materials and Processes (M & P) expertise related to the full life-cycle of ASCO’s aeronautical programs in order to enable ASCO to provide products produced with qualitative, cost-effective and state of the art materials and processes

Research and Development :

  • Assist, support and/or lead R & D projects on all M&P related issues, in close collaboration with the Project Leader and other project members, in order to generate data useful for design and aid in developing new technology. Asco has currently a R&D project to develop composite part for a major aircraft OEM.

M & P Design Authority :

  • Capture the M&P needs of the projects, in close collaboration with the technical project manager and other project members, in order to provide the project deliverables in a timely and technically correct manner.

Industrialization :

  • Prepare, execute and support the industrialization of new projects on all M&P related issues, such that the operations project leader and the surface and thermal treatment service unit (SU TTS) and other project members dispose of the necessary data to deploy the manufacturing of new parts in a lean & safe way.

Ideas / Innovations / Investments (Continuous improvement) :

  • Propose/pick-up new ideas and explore to provide process improvements, investigate and analyze in order to resolve production problems or implement improvements. Provide M&P support to or take the lead of improvement and/or investment projects such that these projects are compliant with customer and applicable regulatory imposed specifications.

Knowledge Capture :

  • Capture M&P knowledge in a structured way with the aim to develop a M&P knowledge database which allows to retrieve data and build-up ASCO’s M&P expertise

Profile:

Education: Masters degree (materials, chemistry,...)

Languages: Fluent in English. Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus

Skills / Experience:

  • Experience in a similar function is an advantage
  • Analytical, precise and responsible aiming for quality, lean and safety

  • Sense for taking initiative
  • Responsive and able to communicate technical matters correctly and comprehensively
